More from that food market in Barcelona. When I finally got bored of colour and shape pictures I started taking candids of the stall holders and shoppers.

The Colours of a Barcelona Market

I spent a few days in Barcelona last week to celebrate the big four oh. I managed to fill two 4 Gb cards with images from the trip. Slowly sorting and processing these and will be posting a selection of my favourites over coming days. One of the things I was most taken with was a food market just of Las Ramblas. I spent a couple of hours in there, photographing the colours and shapes of the produce, as well as candids of the stall holders and shoppers.

Smoo Cave

On the edge of Durness is a dramatic sea cave called Smoo Cave. Spent some time in there on a wet afternoon. Personally I like the colour casts caused by the mixed lighting in the cave. Although I have toned them down a little.

First image was a 30 second exposure in the second chamber of the cave. There is a third chamber, but that is normally only accessible by boat and over the few days we were in Durness it was completely underwater!

Durness

Some images from my recent stay in Durness on the Scottish north coast. As a village, it's little more than a widening of the road. But it has a Spar, a couple of pubs, several art galleries and an artisan chocolate maker. It also has some beautiful coast. But it's windy. Very, very windy. I wish my images could have shown just how windy.
But you will have to settle for beach and rocks.

Back from Scotland

Just back from a hillwalking trip to the far north of Scotland. The weather was changeable to say the least. It was tough getting the walks in let alone taking pictures as well. Still I have a few shots to sort through. One quick one to be going on with.

Even the road less traveled occasionally has road works.
