Dockey Wood, part of the Ashridge Estate, is the finest Bluebell wood I know. It's a small beach wood that, at this time of year, simply turns blue. For a photographer it also has other advantages. It's clean; by that I mean it isn't full of bushes and undergrowth; and it has some clearly defined tracks, which make great lead lines (the double track on the far left side of the wood is my particular favourite). I have shot there many times. To the extent that it hard to do anything new or different. Still, I keep getting drawn back.

Great Tits
Great Tits, taken at one of the feeding stations at Paxton Pits, whilst practising with my 100-400mm lens. It wasn't until I looked at the shots on my monitor at home that I noticed one had a funny eye.

Bluebells at Waresley Wood
On Easter Monday I met up with other CCC members to photograph spring flowers in Waresley Wood. The bluebells are currently at their best and there are several lovely patches throughout the wood.

Brampton Wood Primroses
Sunday was a near perfect day for flower photography; overcast, but bright and without any wind. So, despite the fact I have done this many times before, I headed to Brampton Wood to photograph the primroses.
