We visited Bletchley Park on a 40s themed weekend. People were encouraged to come in costume and there were plenty who did. Reenacters are always happy to pose, particularly if you approach them early in the day, before they have had dozens of requests from photographers. It was however a very sunny day and the light was too harsh for decent portraits.

Last weekend I went to the annual 40's event on the Great Central Steam Railway. I didn't set out to shoot mainly 'Germans', it just sort of worked out that way.

Ramsey 40s Weekend
Last Saturday I visited the 1940s event in Ramsey. I have been several times before and it is always good value, with plenty of dedicated reenactors willing to pose. Having said that, this year there seemed to be fewer than the last time I visited, 2 years ago. It is possible the mixed weather forecast put off some. Or maybe, the increasingly crowded 40s event calendar, there were at least two other events the same weekend, is diluting the numbers.
