Sharpenhoe Clappers
It was a rather breezy morning when I visited Sharpenhoe Clappers. I managed to find a few insects that held still long enough for a shot. The changing light and breezy on the growing crops also gave some interesting shots of the surrounding fields.

Green Winged Orchids
Upwood Meadows is a small nature reserve, not far from Lady's wood near Ramsey. One of the fields is agriculturally unimproved, and shows evidence of medieval ridge and furrows. The meadows are particularly good for green winged orchids. These were looking superb when I visited on a sunny Sunday afternoon.

Brick Lane
Any trip to Columbia Road is immediately followed by a visit to Brick Lane. Despite the fact that the Sunday market at Brick Lane is even busier and more chaotic than Columbia Road, I find it a more rewarding location. The street art offers lots of interesting, and ever-changing, backdrops and there are a number of quieter side-streets that allow for simpler shots.

Columbia Road Market
Columbia Road Flower Market is location that I have shot at a few times, and each time I've struggled to get decent images. On paper it's a great location. A colourful backdrop in the flowers and some colourful characters in the traders and shoppers. But most of the interest is confined to one narrow street and the traders, I find, are not keen on being photographed. In short it is a difficult location. I know others have done well there, but I have only managed one or two shots I really like. Yet, like a photographic flea-bite, every so often I have to give it a scratch. This is my latest effort.
