Strawberry Fair

Last Saturday, I spent an enjoyable sunny afternoon at Strawberry Fair in Cambridge.  There were some great characters on display, both on stage and off.

 

 

 

 

As an experiment, I tried some double exposure shots of the crowd throwing shapes in the club tent.  The results are somewhat jumbled, but give a better idea of the mood and atmosphere, than straight shots ever could.
 

Bug hunting at Paxton Pitts

These are the results of a couple of trips to Paxton Pitts, looking for insects.  Having seen Barry's, and after a subtle hint (so much easier to do now that you can just email an Amazon link), I got a Yongnuo Macro Ring Flash for my birthday.  Still getting to grips with it.  Some of these shots were taken with the flash and some without.

Hampton Court Gardens

Sunday was my birthday, and I spent a pleasant afternoon wandering around the gardens of Hampton Court Palace.  There wasn't time to see the inside, that will have to wait for another trip.

 

  

A few from Waresley wood

A few shots from Waresley wood, taken over the bank holiday weekend.  The bluebells were at their best.

Isabella Plantation

Easter Sunday, I took a walk around the Isabella Plantation in Richmond Park.  The camellias, rhododendrons and azaleas are in full bloom, giving a riot of colour.  The park was busy to say the least, so I had no chance to use a tripod and had to hand hold all the shots.  It was a pity, as there were some excellent potential subjects there for focus stacking.
